Camp Nintendo

This is my latest illustration for the upcoming Fangamer X Attract mode event. The theme was "x", which could be interpreted however we wanted. I imagined a sort of gender segregated summer camp for Nintendo characters. Roasting mushrooms over the fire, telling spooky stories, watching the bird life.

Prints of the work will be available in person and online after the opening night. You can find the full information for the event through here.

You can see a much larger version of the illustration over at

Lime Rickey

La Luz Gallery is having a show pairing up with LA beer week. LINK The theme doesn't have to be beer but most everything I do involves booze so it's my kinda show. This is my piece for the show, Lime Ricky, he's a Gluglin. Little creatures that love getting tanked and stirring up trouble.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

I was asked to take part in a gallery show dedicated to a forgotton tradition...the Saturday morning cartoon marathon. Saturday mornings were what I lived for as a kid. I would glue my butt to the coutch from 8 to noon every saturday morning and loved every second of it. The kids today have no idea what they missed out on.

This show takes place at Ltd. Gallery in Seattle on Friday, July 19th. at 307 E. Pike St. If you can make it out I highly recommend you do, it should be pretty fun.

I chose classic Hanna-Barbera as my theme. I will have these 6 paintings for sale at the show. All are one of a kind 11" x 14" acrylic on canvas and will sell for only $100 each. \

Hey everyone, I'm super excited to be teaching a class over at skillshare.com, starting May 29th, called "Character Illustration: From Concept to Final Artwork." In the class I'll be taking you through my process of illustrating a pirate character. I'll go over concepts, sketches, rendering in Illustrator and Photoshop, and even talk a little bit about color adjustments and the use of textures. Back by popular demand is my Suntory Time print. This is a second edition run of 30. It measures 17" x 12". It is a hand pulled, three color print with the orange and brown inverted from the original design. The original was done for the Bill Murray Tribute Show at g1988 back in 2011. People seemed to like it and still ask if I have any more (long since sold out) so I figured I'd print a few more to help pay for my upcoming wedding.

Un-Nerving Pencil!

I have done many small cartoons/illustrations for print before, but never have I been given  a full two page spread to illustrate, until recently. This story, written by Jess Bergman, tells the tale of Harriet Cole. Harriet was a maid/washwoman in the late 1800's who donated her body to science. Dr. Rufus Weaver was, using her donated corpse, able to accurately separate her nervous system from the rest of her, for the first time ever. Back then it was a scientific miracle. These days, it is still on display, but is mostly seen as a creepy thing in a case.

A small portion of the comic was separated (much like her nervous system...ehhh folks?)  for the cover.
