Crazy4Cult 5: Pulp Fiction Retro-vibe

I had the pleasure of being invited to one of the biggest shows of the year, hosted by Kevin Smith it's Gallery 1988's Crazy4Cult 5!
I was able to create a poster for one of my favorite movies of all time...yup, Pulp Fiction!
An edition of 50, the 1st edition framed will be available at the show and the other 49 will be available for pre-order at exclusively at Gallery 1988.
Rockets, Robots, and Ray Guns, Oh my!

That poor little broken robot at the top is our friend who we'll call "'Splody Bot". His WTF-ometer hit critical and it should appear he's 'sploded.
A very limited edition of 20, it's a 3 color screen print each one complete with it's own unique kinks and imperfections. A framed version will be available at the show and the other editions will be available through my blog later this week.
Rockets, Robots, & Ray Guns!
Here's my piece for the upcoming Rockets, Robots, & Ray Guns! show this Friday. Check it out!
I had so much fun on this one. Thanks for the opportunity. Does it get any better than rockets, robots, and ray guns? Only if there are sexy ladies.

a biting chance
my little 3D goonies painting for the "this is our time now" show in astoria! i kept forgetting to post it, but here it is. visit my blog to read more and see some detail shots :)
Leatherhead
Robotic Footclan

It was fun to get assigned a specific character, especially one I wouldn't have thought of on my own. I tried to convey shiny as best I could with a limited palette. On a personal note, I was glad to be able to contribute something physical to this show. I thought the pizza box project was a great idea. Thanks to Chogrin. I will regret for a while not having the cash to fully participate.
Onward and upwards...
PIZZA TIME_ Bonus Box Art...

I was pretty pressed for time, while working out my TMNT show artwork.. But, I made a little time to knock out an image for the Pizza boxes that where sold at the show... I drew Rocksteady for this project and worked through a few variations before coming to a finished product. Attached you should find one of my rough earlier studies (below), and an attached sample of the art that was in the pizza box (above)..
Hope you dig...

A special thanks to Germain Lussier for the this rad write-up! More @ /Film
Yog-Blogsoth
So, I haven't posted on here in forever but Chogrin asked me to share my blog project Yog-Blogsoth. I've been drawing every creature in ever H.P. Lovecraft story. Everything from the more recognizable stuff (Cthulhu, Elder Things, Shoggoths) to the more obscure stuff (Mutant Penguins, Fungus Vampires, Aegipans) to stuff that's only mentioned (Wamps, Vooniths, Yakith Lizards).
The blog's also been getting a ton of internet press, like on Wired, Boingboing, and io9! Even on this bizarre Hungarian website, Sötét jövő!

WHEAT PASTE YOUR ♥ OUT
Hey guys,
Our good friends, Dietrich Meyer & Linnea Vegh are putting together a very inspiring & massive project in Philadelphia that needs your help!
"Wheat Paste Your Heart Out' is a 3 part installation and group show at Masthead Studios in Philadelphia, showcasing the cities artists and pasters. We will be installing a number of 4' x 8' wood panels in public areas throughout the city. Then, we will have the different artists go around for the month of September, and possibly through October, and go and paste up their artwork. Once it is time to take down the panels, we will be installing the panels inside the gallery for the show on November 12th. We will also be constructing a large installation for the event.
Funding will go towards paying for the panels, materials, truck rentals as well as events that are unforeseen."
View the video above and donate to their Kickstarter page!

New messes.

Here are a few new/old new personal pieces. They fit together, like a running narrative. I'll save that explanation for when the rest are done. All were done with my usual mix: acrylic, pencil, ink, crayon, colored pencil, accidental blood. You are excused.

These shiny happy little guys were done for a create-a-card set put out by Mudpuppy. When they contacted me to do this project and design a bunch of my own robots, i said "affirmative!"... that's robot speak for "yes". If anyone is interested in getting a set of these guys check out the Mudpuppy site.

Art Interviews
Hey guys,
Recently I started Interview Mondays over at Le Style Moderne's Tete-A-Tete.
Last week I interviewed Barcelona Illustrator Conrad Roset
Also, I'm currently in the early stages of organizing my next handmade collaborative art book. The most recent one "Atlas 2" was featured on here a couple weeks ago by Mansur. More photos and info can be seen here.
The next book is going to be themed "Pin-Ups". Tentatively it's being call "Lovely Ladies" and will most likely have around 20-25 illustrators in it. If you'd be interested in either an interview or participating in "Lovely Ladies", please drop me a line.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Greetings from Brian Ewing

Hello Autumn Society,
I'm proud to announce my first gig poster of 2011. I mixed my love for Art Nouveau, 60's Rock Posters and Pin-Up in this screen printed poster for the Black Angels – a stoner, psychedelic band from Austin, TX.
Check out the detail photos. When the light hits it - the underprinting shows through the black and adds a really cool texture to an otherwise flat background.

This is piece for the "CAMP FIREWOOD - celebrating the 10th anniversary of wet hot american summer" art show at the G1988 Venice gallery. I chose to focus my piece on what i thought of as one of the funniest parts of the movie, the talent show.
